NeoGen Plasma

For a gentle and effective way to lift droopy eyelids or to reduce crow’s feet, you may want to consider NeoGen Plasma Skin Regeneration (PSR).  NeoGen PSR is considered to be a safe, non-surgical alternative to plastic surgery so there’s generally no need for a facelift. NeoGen PSR is an FDA approved skin resurfacing procedure and works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, creating a rejuvenated, revived look.

But, NeoGen Plasma is not just an alternative to cosmetic surgery for eye wrinkles. This technology has been proven effective to treat other facial conditions, too,  including:

  • Sun damage (hyperpigmentation and wrinkles)
  • Fine lines
  • Visible pores
  • Active acne and
  • Acne scars.

There’s an abundance of successful NeoGen plasma before and after photos posted online and all over social media. Here are some examples of our own:

While results vary with individuals, you may only need one treatment of NeoGen PSR to get the look you want.

How Does NeoGen Plasma Work?

NeoGen PSR is different from laser skin treatments. While lasers are light-based devices, NeoGen PSR works by converting nitrogen gas into plasma energy. What does that mean? Well, nitrogen gas is natural and is non-toxic to humans as long as it’s not breathed in directly.  What this skin resurfacing technology does is heats up the nitrogen gas really hot until it converts to plasma. (Plasma is considered to be the 4th element in the universe next to solids, liquids and gasses. It has many practical uses. It’s thought to make up 99% of what you see in the night sky.)

NeoGen PSR regenerates the skin by emitting the plasma energy in controlled pulses from the hand piece, heating up the skin rapidly. It’s a non-ablative treatment meaning it stimulates your body’s production of collagen without destroying your skin’s tissue.

Ideal Candidate For Plasma Skin Regeneration

Generally, men and women with light to medium skin tones are ideal candidates for the NeoGen skin resurfacing procedure. Those who have acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, sun damage or fine lines can benefit from NeoGen PSR. People who wish to gain a more youthful appearance without a facelift through a non-invasive technique may find that NeoGen PSR is the perfect solution. If you’re feeling insecure in any way about drooping eyelids or crows feet, this procedure may be right for you.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?

The NeoGen treatments are gentle and to most patients, virtually painless. However, for people who want it, a thin layer of numbing cream may be applied to increase comfort during the procedure. Some people describe the procedure as a comfortable warm blast of air, even when treating sensitive areas such as the eyelids. Skin may appear slightly flushed or red immediately after treatment.

NeoGen Plasma FAQ

Is plasma skin tightening permanent?

While results will vary for individuals, plasma skin tightening is said to, in many cases, deliver similar results to surgical facelifts. Doctors report that the treatment can last up to 2-3 years or can be permanent.

How long does a NeoGen Plasma treatment take?

Treatment times will vary with individual goals, but generally, the NeoGen Plasma skin resurfacing procedure can be done in around 45-60 minutes for full face and in around 5-10 minutes for a smaller targeted region on the face.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF NEOGEN?

NeoGen delivers many benefits, but perhaps the biggest one is it’s safe to use on the lower and upper eyelids, which are considered to be tricky areas to lift and smooth skin. In fact, clinical studies show that NeoGen treatments deliver an average of a 22% improvement in upper eyelid tightening. So, regarding issues like crows-feet and droopy eyelids, NeoGen works where other technologies fail.

Another benefit of NeoGen is that there’s little to no downtime. Neogen is a gentle procedure so there’s almost no after-treatment redness or irritation in the skin of most patients.

NeoGen treatments can diminish the appearance of and/or address several skin conditions including acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, sun spots, age spots, Melasma (brown to gray-brown patches), Actinic Keratoses (precancerous skin lesions) and some cases of active acne.

WHAT KIND OF POST TREATMENT CARE SHOULD I BE AWARE OF?

Patients should avoid direct exposure to the sun for several months following treatment, and wear sunscreen of SPF 50 or more. Dr. Galope will help assess your skin care regime, making sure you’re using only gentle ingredients on your face for at least a week after treatment. For 1-2 days after treatment, your skin may feel dryer than normal, so you’ll need to make sure you keep your skin well-hydrated.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?

While individual results vary, most people experience the best effects with 3 to 5 sessions done regularly at 4 to 6 week intervals.
